Palmetto Derma: Lifting Eye Cream

9:34 pm

Hello everyone! I hope you're all having a lovely Friday, and I am so very excited to bring this little review to you all. I've been working with this product for a couple of weeks now, so I could give you all a well rounded personal opinion. So today's review is on the Palmetto Derma Retinol and Peptide Infused Lifting Eye Cream. What a mouthful! But before I get into the review, I thought I should give you some information about the brand, Palmetto Derma.

The Important Stuff:
  • Palmetto Derma is an America skincare brand. (For you Australian girls, they aren't currently shipping to Australia, but if you're dying to try their stuff after this review, below will be a recommendation for a shipping company!)
  • Every product is free from parabens and sulfates.
  • All products are free from animal testing
  • 97.5% or more of the ingredients are natural
  • 70% or more of the ingredients are organic
  • Contains certified organic ingredients
  • FDA approved
Something I really love about Palmetto Derma is that they promote Strength & Beauty.
"Palmetto Derma brings strength and beauty to your skin, all day & night!
Palmetto Derma was created with the roots that bring strength and beauty to your skin day and night. It is our mission to provide the most outer layer on women and men around the world with skin care products to create and maintain vitality and beauty... just like the Palmetto palm tree.
Furthering our mission to support strength in men and women, Palmetto Derma's passion to support Breast Cancer Awareness has been incorporated into our business model.  As a cause near and dear to our hearts, we donate 1% of each sale to Breast Cancer Awareness.  Everyone who has been touched by this disease knows what kind of strength it takes to overcome, so we stay deep rooted in supporting this cause as individuals and as an entire brand."

So lets get into the lifting eye cream!

Firstly, I'd like to make a disclaimer. Although I have had this product gifted to me, this is 100% my true opinion. In no way have I altered my opinion due to being gifted the product, and I was not paid to voice my opinion or say certain things.

Now that I have gotten that out of the way, we can talk about the fun stuff! The Palmetto Derma lifting eye cream is infused with peptide and retinol. What is Peptides? Peptides are derived from amino acid and retinol is a form of vitamin A. It also contains rosehip oil, and vitamin C! Lots of good stuff! For a full list of the ingredients, you can check here.

This eye cream is aimed minimise wrinkles and fine lines, firm the skin, repair and soothe.

Here is my before and after use of the Palmetto Derma Retinol and Peptide Infused Lifting Eye Cream. I used the cream for about 3.5 weeks. As you can tell, I have quite fine lines. Being a mere 19 years old now (yes, I celebrated another year of life!) I was a little self concious about having them, given I've never been one to stay up all night, I've always looked after my skin as best as possible, and kept hydrated. Keeping my eye makeup on while I slept has only ever happened once, otherwise, I refuse to let it occur. I know basically everyone has them, but I like to control how healthy I look, given my long term illnesses can dramatically affect my appearance, varying day to day. I was skeptical, and have always been skeptical that there truly isn't anything that will reverse 'aging' of the skin. But as you can see, this has actually firmed, and almost made my fine lines disappear. Not only this, but I did feel as though it hydrated this area of my skin really well, compared to the few eye creams I have tried.

Application: When applying any eye cream, it is best to use your softest finger. For me this is my right little finger. I dot the cream  along the highest point of the cheek bones, up the outer side of the eyes, and above the brow bones. I then gently massage it up to my eye (not too close though, the lotion will absorb into your skin, and reach those parts that are extra sensitive), massage from my brow bone all over my forhead, and along the sides of my outer part of my eyes.

Feel: The eye cream gives the most soothing feel wherever I apply it. You can feel it cooling your skin, and hydrating it.

Reactions: I have had no reactions in the 3.5 weeks I've used the product, which I am very happy about. My skin has become quite sensitive (due to my long term illness') and this cream didn't even cause any redness, itch etc.

Price- 5/10 The price of the cream is $68 USD. Most of my skincare is a fraction of this price. Although, the results I received from this product, I am definately happy to pay full price if I were to purchase when I run out.
Consistency- 10/10 The consistency is smooth, and easily applys to the skin.
Feel- 9/10 The only reason I didn't give it a 10, is because when it is a really cold night (given it is currently Winter here), the cooling affect is a little frustrating. A warming eye cream would be so cool for winter!
Affect- 10/10 - I am yet to find an eye cream that does it's job as good as this!
Overall- 8/10
